About the event
As a beginner student, I remember how much I struggled keeping up with Sun Salutations in class. Â There is so much to think about, put this foot there, rise up, back down, breathe in, breathe out .... Â When you have the knowledge, experience & confidence saluting the sun is a seamless flow of body, mind & breath but when you are just starting your journey it can be anything but! Â Well, I offer this workshop for you!!
Sun Salutations are part of most yoga classes & once you have your flow and technique they are the simpliest flow for you to do at home for yourself. Â But if you go to an established weekly multi-level class trying to learn them and keep up can sometimes be challenging and maybe a little off putting right? Â You can feel like your the only person that can't keep up? Â Flinging yourself from one pose to another just to keep up, means that you are not being mindful & could possibily result in hurting yourself or getting into unhelpful habits.
I have 8 years experience of teaching sun salutations to all level students so I have plenty of tips & options to share with you. Â During this 2 hour workshop we will breakdown all the normal components involved ... cobra, plank, downward-facing -dog, chatauranga etc. and we'll look at the transitions, plank to chatauranga, chatauranga to upward-facing-dog, stepping from upward-facing-dog to low-lunge etc. Â You will have the chance to practice and to ask questions. Â
You do not need to be a regular student at Ashgrove to benefit from this workshop. Â It is open to everyone, even if you've been practicing for a while and there is a particular area that you're struggling with then please come along and join us because if you are struggling with something, you can guarantee someone else is too!!
I look forward to flowing with you. Â Tania x
